Red Bowl + Cancun Bar and Grill Review

Logan Rawson

At first, you would definitely think mixing Asian cuisine and Mexican cuisine into one restaurant would be a little questionable, but after having the opportunity to try various menu items ranging from sushi to quesadillas and all the way to orange chicken and rice, this restaurant is great all around, no matter whether you choose to go for Mexican or Chinese food on a given day. This is a great family restaurant, with it being located near local residential housing and just an all-around good family environment. I personally loved the Cancun rice with grilled chicken, and the Bama sushi roll was incredible. Definitely suggest checking this place out if you ever get the chance.

Having been to Red Bowl Cancun, I can confidently speak to the depth of their menu. After all, it isn’t your typical dine-in restaurant when they offer two separate menus. The combination of Mexican-Asian cuisine is a new but interesting and exciting experience for most. It is seemingly impossible to run out of a diverse combination of flavors and textures — picture the tangy taste of the orange chicken followed by the flavor-packed chicken fajita bowl. With a taste for an especially unheard-of dining experience, Red Bowl Cancun delivers on providing a bustling environment, attentive staff constantly checking in on you, and the overwhelming smell of an epic culinary combo.

Visiting Red Bowl Cancun, I immediately was immersed in a fantastic cross-cultural atmosphere. This environment was not only welcoming but engaging, as the staff, including Ms. Q, the owner, became friends instantly. The food was amazing too, perfect portions to share for our group of over 20. I loved the orange chicken, Bama sushi roll, and the crab rangoon especially. Tide and Tables will definitely be rolling here again.

Red Bowl Cancun is my go-to Mexican restaurant in town. It always has a very fun and great atmosphere. The staff here is super nice and attentive. To start, the queso is always so good! I normally always get the Cancun rice with chicken, and it’s the very best. However, today was my first time to try Red Bowl. The orange chicken might be my new favorite now. The steak quesadilla was also very good. Overall, Red Bowl Cancun always has been and always will be one of my favorite restaurants in town!

Having been to quite a few Mexican restaurants as well as Asian restaurants, I was thoroughly impressed with how well they were able to pull off the best of both worlds. My two favorite food items were the crispy wontons and the orange chicken. This is quite ironic since they both stem from the Asian side of things, while I came in expecting to enjoy the Mexican food the most because that is what I usually enjoy. The wontons are always my favorite appetizer at Mr. Chen’s, so when I saw they were also on the menu, I got excited.

This being my first time to Red Bowl and Cancun, it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere and attention we were shown was fantastic. At the end of our eating, we were given free dessert and orange chicken. The quesadillas we ordered were some of the best I have had, and the dumplings were super soft and very tasty. The atmosphere was very inviting and very family-friendly. It was very cheap for how much food was bought. The owner, Mrs. Qiu, came out and thanked us personally for coming, and I was very happy with everything and everyone I experienced.

Red Bowl Cancun is a family-operated restaurant full of families enjoying great food, so the Tide and Tables family felt right at home. The owner, Mrs. Qiu, is such a sweet woman, making everyone feel welcome. I really enjoyed the Cancun rice with grilled chicken. It was cooked to perfection and was quite filling. The sweet rolls we got on the house were a great treat to cap off a great meal.

This was only my second time at Red Bowl Cancun and will now not be my last. The orange chicken with fried rice and broccoli surprised me the most. At first, I was a little skeptical, but it was very flavorful and delicious. I will also definitely reorder the Bama roll, stuffed with cream cheese and fried to perfection, as well as the classic chicken quesadilla, which was solid.

After going to Cancun for the first time, I enjoyed my experience. The waitresses were very welcoming, fun, and attentive to the customers. The dumplings were my favorite thing I tried. The chicken and rice was also very good. I also tried the quesadilla, but it didn’t stand out to me.

Cancun is a phenomenal place. I find it so interesting how they combine two different origins of food into one place. The orange chicken is a go-to classic, and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back!

Wow is all I can say. This has been the greatest dining experience I’ve had in Tuscaloosa so far. I love the variety of food you can order at such an amazing price point. My favorite dish was the crab rangoon.

Cancun was a pretty good spot. From the atmosphere to the food and service, I definitely recommend it. The steak quesadilla is a must-have. I am not the biggest fan of fried sushi, but the Bama roll was pretty good. The fried rice was a must-have and the service was amazing. Everyone was happy to see us, and I would recommend everyone visit Cancun!

I really enjoyed the chicken and cheese quesadilla, as there wasn’t too much cheese in it. I also loved the Bama roll, as it was the perfect temperature and a good mixture. My favorite had to be the grilled chicken with rice and vegetables. It tasted very good. 10/10.
