I had been to Mr. Chen’s a few times to shop in the market, but this was my first time eating in the restaurant. The cumin chicken was unexpectedly one of my favorites. It had just the right amount of spice, and the onions were sautéed perfectly. I also loved that the crab rangoons had a slight sweetness to them, since I do not usually love when they are overly savory. The most interesting dish I tried was the Peking Duck. It was tender, served with a flavorful sauce, and paired with thin pancakes that made it even better. Overall, everything was great. The service was helpful, and the food came out quickly.

Our server was so kind and enthusiastic, which made the entire experience even better. The Mongolian beef was my favorite, especially with the caramelized onions instead of noodles. It was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. I am not usually a big fan of green beans, but I tried it and actually really enjoyed it. Honestly, there was not a single thing I did not like, and now I will not even know what to order next time because everything was so good.

Mr. Chen’s was a hit for sure. Paired with the market at the front, the restaurant brings a taste of Asian culture right to the heart of Tuscaloosa. Our group had a great experience with attentive service and flavorful dishes. My favorites were the Half Peking Duck, Sautéed String Beans, and the Cumin Beef. Definitely coming back again.

My experience at Mr. Chen’s was great from start to finish. I love how you walk through the grocery store before entering the restaurant. It makes the whole place feel unique and authentic. My favorite dishes were the Mongolian beef and the lo mein, and both were full of flavor. The service was outstanding, and the food came out quickly. I would definitely recommend Mr. Chen’s to anyone in the mood for great Asian food.

This was my first time eating at Mr. Chen’s. Since it was the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, I expected a more energetic atmosphere, and the restaurant felt quieter than I anticipated. That said, the food definitely delivered. The cumin beef was phenomenal and made up for the slower atmosphere. I also loved the pan fried dumplings, which were perfectly crispy. It was a great break during a hectic midterm week, and the value really stood out. You can get a large lunch meal for around ten dollars, which is hard to beat. I will definitely be returning.

Mr. Chen’s is one of my favorite local restaurants in Tuscaloosa. My parents always love eating here when they’re in town, and it never disappoints. Like every other visit, the service was fantastic. The sesame chicken and Mongolian beef were both delicious, and the dumplings I tried for the first time were incredible. I’ll definitely be back very soon.

I have been to Mr. Chen’s a couple of times, but I usually stick to my go to order of chicken fried rice. This time, I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried the dumplings, green beans, orange chicken, and noodles. Everything was flavorful, and I really enjoyed getting to sample a variety of dishes. I also love that there is a small market in the front of the restaurant. I will definitely be going back to grab some snacks. Overall, it was a great night and I even made a few new friends.

I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant in T-Town, and this is by far the best one I have found. I would recommend Mr. Chen’s to everyone because of the great atmosphere, flavorful food, and fast service. My favorite dishes were the orange chicken and the fried dumplings. The rice was also perfectly cooked, which may seem simple, but a lot of restaurants surprisingly undercook it. Overall, such a great experience.

I came to Mr. Chen’s really hungry, and it turned out to be a great meal with even better company. I got to meet some new friends and try a few new dishes. My favorite parts of the meal were definitely the duck and the Mongolian beef, which were both full of flavor. The white rice was simple and neutral, which paired well with the more flavorful dishes, especially after adding a little soy sauce. Overall, it was a fun night and a solid experience.

Mr. Chen’s was very enjoyable as always. Even though I did not get to try every dish, everything on the table looked delicious. My two favorites were the crab rangoons and the Mongolian chicken, which did not surprise me since they are always my go to orders. I have been to Mr. Chen’s multiple times, and those two items never disappoint. Overall, I had a great time.

One of my favorite things about Mr. Chen’s is that there is a Chinese grocery store right next door. It makes the whole experience feel more authentic and unique. The orange chicken and Mongolian beef were definitely the standouts and full of flavor. While the crab rangoons and noodles were not my personal favorites, everything was still well prepared and fresh. Overall, it was a really enjoyable meal and a fun spot to visit.
